I don’t get why people insist that you NEED to call yourself a feminist to believe in the concepts behind feminism. I’m very much for girl power and supporting women and pretty much everything feminism says/used to stand for. The movement itself is just full of so much hate and has become kind of this matriarchy that demands certain behavior that I can’t bring myself to use the label.
Isn’t it someone’s views that matter and not their label? There are feminists who don’t care if you call yourself one because they understand association is a choice and that you can still believe in women’s rights without calling yourself a feminist. Why can’t everyone be like that? To me that rabid hate for anyone who doesn’t want to associate with the movement is even more reason to avoid it.
